James Burkart and Associates was responsible for the development of a nature learning center in a low lying wetland area on campus. The site needed to be reached with a series of handicap accessible sidewalks from the campus academic buildings up hill. The wetland was dry most of the year so it was excavated deeper reaching a high water table thus keeping it filled. An overlook shelter was constructed with a perimeter path encircling the wetland pond.
